We all keep a photos and videos collection of our family somewhere around our home. Mine is a huge struggle to organise especially with young children. But I endeavour to arrange them so I can easily find them. There are thousands of images stored all across various mobiles, laptops, cameras, etc.. which we don’t normally look at. My question to you is where are all your photos?

In this post, I’ll share a checklist of photos and videos (FREE download). Use it as a start to help you find and arrange your memories so you can easily find them. This way, you can create family treasures to share.
If you’ve inherit your parents old negatives, make sure you check them for old photographs you want to keep. Same goes with VHS video tapes, make sure you have them digitized. And remember all those photos or videos on your mobile, search through them to delete unwanted photos.

These days, thanks to the advent of digital technology, it’s much easier to arrange our memories.
When my children were younger, it became an overwhelming chore to sort through all the photos on my mobile. And often I’d struggle just to find their photos to create a 21st birthday photo slideshow video or even a photobook,

This list gives you an idea of places to look for your memories. I’ve added new places which I’ve found many lost photos. I hope it helps you find yours.
In recent years, my children started high school which gives me much time to arrange and created many photo slideshows. We love watching our memories on videos. I’ve managed to arrange thousands of my photos on my mobile and laptop to keep as a record. And culled the unwanted ones.
Here is how I’ve made a start to control my photos and videos.
Photos and Videos Under One Roof
Gather all your media images and videos onto your laptop. Download my Where are my Photo and Video Checklist. And slowly find your media files—keep your meaningful images. Transfer them from one source at a time. This way you don’t get too overwhelmed with working on a small number of photos at a time.

Remove Unwanted Images
Once you’ve gathered all your images on your hard drive, you can now start to cull unwanted images. These include duplicates, screenshots, blur photos, landscapes with no meaning or person, sky or clouds, scenic views etc… You know the ones I’m referring to.
Keep Meaningful Photographs and Videos
Look for photos that show a story. Meaningful photos as well as family portraits are great to have in photo frames. These are photos that show your family history. My children often ask me about my life in Singapore and our family heritage. Imagine with me for a second. When you have the important meaningful memories accessible, it’s easier to spend quality time telling stories that bind.
Easy Access to your Memories
Have you ever tried looking for a photo on your mobile to share with a friend? Do you have to sort through the entire laptop to find a collection of photos? You need these photos to create a photo slideshow. The whole point of organising your memories is to share your family history.
