I created these photo organising folders to preserve my family photos and videos. If you find it overwhelming to organise your memories, why not download these folders and use them as a guide.
So .. what exactly is the best way to organize thousands of photos? It’s a question I get asked often. The truth is there is no perfect way except for you to put time aside to physically sort them out. Just don’t let your memories make you feel overwhelmed.
Now if you think about it, we often search for our photos based on the events in our memory, right? Well, I found it easier to organise my family photos by events as I remembered them.
Which is why I created this system, to help make it easier for you as it did for me.
Let me walk you through the process so you can start using these folders for your family photos. When you’ve downloaded my photo organising folders, this is what you’ll see.
Within each folder, you will find other folders, and you can create a new folder or rename an old one. Just follow the process as I have shown below.
Photo Organising Folders
Do you know where your photos and video lives? Organising a growing collection of digital photos or adding scanned printed photos to your collection can be frustrating and overwhelming. Which is why this system will work for you.
Gather your Memories
First thing to do is gather your photos in small amounts and transfer them onto the single folders you downloaded on your laptop. Delete duplicates, blur photos or ones you don’t want to keep. Continue to rinse and repeat the process slowly so you don’t accumulate too much to handle.
The aim with organising your family photos is to ensure all your photos and videos are stored in one location. It is easy to access them for printing family portraits, creating family photobooks and photo slideshow videos.
Rename your Folders
If you wish to rename these folders, just right click on the folder you wish to rename and name it accordingly.
Create a New Folder
To create a new folder, right click on new, then folder and name it. Continue to create as many new folders as required.
Why Memories are so important..
Every day, we take a countless number of photos on our mobile phones and leave them there for our relatives and friends to view on a tiny little screen. While this is great, it’s important not to let them stay there indefinitely.
I cannot express how crucial memories are as evidence of our existence and accomplishment. Trust me, your children will notice every photo or video you have and see the love of you with taking it.
When you begin to sort them all, you start to preserve your family stories. During these uncertain times, our world is constantly changing and our children need some form of certainty to help them move forward .. and our family memories will give them the confidence in knowing they have our full support. This is certainly worth remembering.
